The
Omnious clouds threatened us, but we were unmoved. The show ust had to be a
success, we wanted it, no matter what! 3rd August came with a thunderousapplausefrom
the crowds, and the hal was full with everyone trying to get a last minute ticket
if possible.
With the gruelling rehearsals for the past four months, nobody coud wait anymore.
The little girls started with their item "Argha"( A respectful ofering)
wearing sarees and sporting buns with flowers and Chandan on their forehead.
They looked very pretty. This followed with a musical item f a garland of "Rabindrasangeet".
All the participating ladies wore beautiful blue sarees to give the theme to
it.
The other communities also presented their song and Dance items. Mr Subir Chaterjee
presented "Nana Ranger Dinguli" with his special touch.
Next came the presentation of " Kabuliwala" a paly Of Rabindra Nath
Tagore enacted by the kids of our community.
It was really exiting to see our programe come to life
with so many kids participating and trying to embrace our culture and bea
part of it too.
This time we had two of our young ones as Master of
the Ceremony - Shorik Chatterjee and Suravi Das.
With the break and the fantastic food on sale , wehad
to wait for our pulsating drama presented by our community "Chutir Phandey".
What a show everyone presented!! No matter how much our comunity members had
to work , it was like a festivaland a celebration for us, a celebration of
life, fun and joy!!!
